Kate Riley
President and Chief Executive Officer
Kate Riley is the President and Chief Executive Officer of America’s Public Television Stations (APTS), a role she began on October 1, 2024. Riley joined APTS in May 2010, and served as director, government relations, and vice president, government and public affairs.
Prior to joining APTS, Riley served as legislative director for Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif. Her responsibilities included creating and implementing a comprehensive legislative strategy, overseeing appropriations activity, managing the legislative staff and directly handling a number of issues, including telecommunications, technology, taxes and transportation. Before being promoted to legislative director, Riley was Rep. Sanchez’s Homeland Security legislative assistant, handling all issues in the jurisdiction of the House Committee on Homeland Security and Rep. Sanchez’s work as chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Border, Maritime and Global Counterterrorism. Previously, Riley worked for Rep. Sam Farr, D-Calif., as a legislative assistant handling some Appropriations Committee work.
Riley graduated cum laude from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, Spanish and writing intensive English.
