WSRE Offers Public Venue for Lifelong Learners

WSRE, public television for Pensacola, FL, offers their local community “Imagination Station”, a free venue that provides children, parents and teaching professionals with educational resources. These resources include the latest hands-on learning tools for children and parents, as well as professional development material for educators. When guests visit the Imagination Station, they are able to utilize books, educational toys, touch screen technology and take-home resources.

The goal of the Imagination Station is to provide early education to low-resource families and improve the literacy rate. Core areas include language/literacy, cognition & general knowledge, health & physical development and social & emotional development.

Through the establishment of the Imagination Station, WSRE has been able to build stronger partnerships with Title 1, Head Start and other community organizations. These partnerships have allowed a wide population of Escambia County residents to visit the venue.

As the Imagination Station expands, WRSE will continue their efforts in providing learning resources, PBS character appearances and special events for the community.
