Six Tennessee Public Television Stations Broadcast Coverage of the 109th Tennessee General Assembly Sessions

Six public television stations in Tennessee - East Tennessee PBS, WCTE in Cookeville, WKNO in Memphis, WLJT in Martin, WNPT in Nashville and WTCI in Chattanooga - have joined forces to broadcast coverage of the 109th Tennessee General Assembly sessions.

Coverage includes live and tape-delayed activities, including the convening of the House and Senate, Senate and House sessions, and joint conventions of both House and Senate.

The coverage, which is in partnership with the Tennessee General Assembly, offers citizens a chance to witness their elected representatives in action. In addition to floor sessions, selected committee meetings, where many of the big issues confronting the legislature are debated, will also air. Each week’s broadcast schedule will be set by the Tennessee Senate and House on Thursday of the previous week.

This project is funded under an agreement with the Tennessee General Assembly and with additional support from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, AT&T and by the following members of the Tennessee Credit Union League: Ascend Federal Credit Union, Dupont Community Credit Union, First South Financial, Kimberly Clark Credit Union, Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union and UT Federal Credit Union.
