KBTC Provides Weekly Documentaries on the West Washington People

KBTC, public television for Tacoma, WA, produces Full Focus, the region’s only weekly, 30-minute documentary series. Full Focus takes a thoughtful and in-depth look at the people, places and events that make western Washington a special place to live.

Full Focus has been recognized and honored with half a dozen Telly awards and six Northwest Regional Emmy awards. From beneath the surface of the Puget Sound (The World Below) to the touching retrospective of Seattle’s favorite clown (Tribute - JP Patches), KBTC presents the stories that are rarely or never told.

For Tacoma’s large military population, Full Focus told the WWII stories of airborne bomber missions (303rd, Might In Flight) and holocaust survivors (Liberator), the Iraq war (Fallen Hero) and Michael Reagan – a local artist dedicated to painting memories of our soldiers (Portraits off Fallen Heroes).

Full Focus also tells stories about the arts - Fred Oldfield is the Last Cowboy Painter, Becci Crowe mounts safaris with pen and ink (Sketches of The Wild), The Ventures were born in Tacoma (Walk Don’t Run) and the performance of a whimsical and fun burlesque revue (Atomic Bombshells).

From serious to fun to avant-garde, KBTC’s Full Focus reaches out to tell the stories of western Washington’s diverse communities, lifestyles and history.
