Jennifer Kieley Promoted to Vice President of Government and Public Affairs at America’s Public Television Stations

WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 9, 2025 – Jennifer Kieley has been promoted to Vice President of Government and Public Affairs at America’s Public Television Stations. Her new position is effective immediately.

Ms. Kieley has served as Senior Director of Government Relations since August 2023. She joined APTS in 2006 as a Congressional Liaison and was promoted to Director of Government Relations in July 2009.

In the role of Vice President of Government and Public Affairs, Ms. Kieley will manage congressional relations, state government liaison, work with federal departments and agencies, communications, grassroots and grasstops advocacy.

“Jen has served APTS for over 18 years with exceptional skill, loyalty and thoughtful leadership. She has helped our organization and member stations navigate difficult times and successfully seize opportunities,” said APTS President and CEO Kate Riley. “Her collaborative nature and commitment to building consensus and working effectively with internal and external stakeholders will continue to serve APTS well. Jen’s deep knowledge and appreciation for the work of our stations, the public media system, the legislative process and the political landscape is a great asset to APTS and the public broadcasting community as a whole.”

Prior to joining APTS, Ms. Kieley served as a legislative consultant for the National Water Resources Association and lobbied for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. In her six years with the electric cooperatives, Ms. Kieley held positions in their grassroots department, ultimately becoming an association lobbyist focusing on telecommunications, taxes and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Ms. Kieley holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the George Washington University.
