America’s Public Television Stations Statement on the Death of Len Press

WASHINGTON – August 5, 2019 – Patrick Butler, president and chief executive officer of America’s Public Television Stations (APTS), made the following statement today on the passing of Len Press.

"America’s Public Television Stations join all of our colleagues in public broadcasting in mourning the passing of Len Press, the founder of Kentucky Educational Television.

"Mr. Press was a pioneering member of the board of APTS, then known as the Association of Public Broadcasting, and his commitment to public service – with television as a powerful tool to perform that service – remains our animating philosophy to this day.

"We salute his long years of leadership, his mentorship of so many who followed him into public broadcasting, and his legacy of service that will live forever."
