  • Dollar General Adult, Family and Summer Literacy Grants

    The Dollar General Foundation will provide grants of up to $10,000 to nonprofits located within 15 miles of a Dollar General store for direct services to adults with literacy needs. The 2026 grant cycle has closed. We expect to see new guidelines in January 2027.

  • Recordings at Risk

    CLIR's Recordings at Risk grant program awards $10,000 - $50,000 to preserve "at-risk" recorded content. Deadline: February 24, 2026.

  • Dollar General Youth Literacy Grant Program

    Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to schools, public libraries and nonprofit organizations to help students who are reading below grade level or experiencing difficulty reading. Applicants must be located within 15 miles of a Dollar General store. We expect the 2026 competition to open on March 5, 2026.

  • Preservation and Access Education and Training

    Up to $350,000 over 3 years is available from NEH to create and implement training programs for staff members of cultural institutions. Stations with experience in digitally preserving recorded sound and moving image collections may find a fit here. The 2026 deadline is expected to be June 15, 2026 with guidelines released in April.

  • Media Projects: Development & Production Grants

    Production funding of up to $1,000,000 is available through this NEH grant program. New guidelines are expected to be released April 1, 2026 with a deadline of June 25, 2026.

  • Celebrate America!

    New NEH matching grants will provide up to $25,000 for celebrations of the nation’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026. NEH anticipates making 250 awards. Allowable activities could include screenings, community events, digital content, educational content, teacher training and documentary work. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

  • Challenge America

    This NEA program is designed as an entry point to small organizations that extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations. $10,000 is available and requires a 1:1 match. Note that this program is meant for first-time NEA applicants with an operating budget of less than $250,000 (new requirement in 2026). These grants could be helpful for a smaller community partner, as part of a collaborative project. Deadlines in 2026: February 25 and July 21.

  • Our Town

    NEA's Our Town funds partnerships of 2 or more organizations to support activities that integrate arts, culture and design into local efforts that strengthen communities. Grants range $25,000 - $150,000 and require a 1-1 match. These grants are now available through the Grants for Arts program. Deadlines: February 25 and July 21, 2026.

  • Grants for Arts Projects

    The NEA Grants for Arts Projects program supports creation, engagement, learning and livability in communities through grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. (1-1 match required). New guidelines include new priority areas including creative arts therapies, disability and intersections with the 2028 Olympic games. There are two rounds in 2026 with final deadlines of February 25 and July 21.

  • Digitizing Hidden Collections: Amplifying Unheard Voices Grant Program

    Supports awards ranging from $50,000 to $300,000 for the digitization of rare and unique materials that deepen the public understanding of underrepresented communities. The 2025 cycle has closed. We expect to see the next round open in August 2026.
