    Next Generation Warning System Grant Program (NGWSGP)

    This new infrastructure program for public broadcasters was created by the Department of Homeland Security's FEMA and will be run by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Public television and radio stations will compete for grants to upgrade their technology and provide accompanying training. Funds will be distributed, pending availability, through September 30, 2025. Round 1 closed on November 8, 2023. A second RFA is expected in the late spring of 2024.

In recent years, public broadcasters have received awards of up to $750,000, however, beginning in 2023, the program no longer support digital infrastructure requests. Significant matching is required. The last round closed on May 17 2023. The next competition is expected with a deadline in May 2024.
