Read what your colleagues are saying about the Grant Center for Public Media:

“As a seasoned fundraising professional with a background in higher education philanthropic giving, I have valued Meegan’s public media-tailored information and insights as I’ve developed and expanded WVIA’s grant opportunities. The Grant Center for Public Media is the place to find timely information on the most relevant national offerings and conferences. I have benefited from the thoughtful professional development experiences, Meegan's facilitation of personal connections with funders and colleagues, and the fact that she is readily available and responsive when I have questions. The Grant Center is a valuable asset for any grants professional starting their journey or possessing a wealth of experience.

- Vicki Austin, Senior Director, Grants and Education, WVIA

“As a development professional with over 20 years’ experience, I rely on the Grant Center to be an extra set of hands in helping me identify funding sources for joint projects that are being considered by Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations (IPBS). Their research gave us a list of funding prospects that we could then consider approaching. We also invited Meegan to virtually join our IPBS annual conference this year. She hit it out of the park with a presentation tailored to the needs of Indiana stations, many who don’t have development staff with enough time to spend on grants. I wholeheartedly recommend investing in the Grant Center if you are looking to diversify your revenue through grants. It has saved me a lot of time!”

– Barbara Duke Sams, Marketing Manager, IPBS

“I came into my role at WQED in the spring of 2022 as the Foundation Coordinator – my director and I felt confident that the station’s work deserved federal support but we were both new to the process (as was the station!). The Grant Center was critical for us to see how other stations received federal support. The Grant Center is truly unique in showing awards that are specific to public media and highlighting past station awardees. Now it is spring of 2024 and we have received all three federal awards and I am the Foundation Manager at the station. Thank you to the Grant Center and Meegan for your support, dedication and love for this industry – we couldn’t have done it without you!”

- Katie Winter, Foundation Manager, WQED

“The APTS Grant Center is an invaluable source for insights and guidance tailored to our station’s specific needs. In addition to the insights we gain from the Center’s newsletters and other updates on the general funding landscape, our periodic one-on-ones with Meegan White help us drill down into strategy and find prospects based on our specific initiatives and projects."

– Jenn Gibbs, Ph.D., Operations Manager, UEN-TV

“When I joined West Virginia Public Broadcasting, my expertise was primarily in federal grant management. To say the least, the realm of public media was fairly new to me, and I needed to catch up on the latest trends in grant management and seeking new grants through philanthropic organizations. Our membership with the Grant Center for Public Media proved to be an excellent resource for immersing myself in the intricacies of grant research for public media. They also regularly provide information on new grant opportunities that are relevant to our station and provide guidance when needed. Our membership not only provides insights into various grant opportunities but also facilitates connections with like-minded professionals nationwide. I highly endorse a Grant Center membership for any station committed to expanding its funding streams through grants.

- Americo Valdes, Director of Grant Programs, West Virginia Public Broadcasting.

The Grant Center for Public Media is an integral part of the grants process at New Mexico PBS. Our team confers with the Grant Center on a regular basis on funding strategy for the arts, environmental reporting and local production. We have also used the Grant Center to help new staff learn about working with grants and identifying prospects. The grant research we have received for specific station projects has been valuable in our funding efforts. Our investment in Grant Center membership is an essential part of our strategy to expand and diversify our station’s funding sources.“

– Franz Joachim, General Manager and CEO, New Mexico PBS
