America’s Public Television Stations (APTS) is seeking an Events and Staff Assistant to provide direct support to the Member Services and Administration department and its efforts in the recruitment and retention of members and sponsors for the organization’s enhanced services and Public Media Summit.
The Events and Staff Assistant will perform a wide variety of office and clerical duties such as conducting prospect research, identifying and soliciting individual, corporate and foundation membership and sponsor prospects, establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with current and potential supporters, assembling and distributing sponsorship materials, providing database entry assistance, and maintaining membership and event areas of the organization’s website. In addition, the Events and Staff Assistant will assist with Grant Center-related research projects focusing on funding opportunities for stations.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree, strong writing and analytical skills, and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment meeting tight deadlines. This position requires someone who is efficient in Microsoft office applications, self-motivated, reliable, creative, personable, organized, thorough, timely and able to multi-task. In addition, candidates should have a strong interest and enthusiasm for public broadcasting issues. Knowledge of web page editing is a plus.
