SCETV Celebrates Success of Online Instructional Education
In response to the increasing demand for easy-to-use, standards-based information technology, SCETV debuted StreamlineSC, an online inventory of more than 26,000 educational video clips, in November 2004. Today, every school district in South Carolina utilizes this service, and in March 2006 SCETV celebrated StreamlineSC’s millionth hit. Interest in the site has continued to grow, and StreamlineSC currently receives at least 50,000 hits per week and has nearly 30,000 registered users.
The online clips correlate to K-12 curriculum standards and contain content from ETV’s educational productions, State Department of Education-approved programs, and Discovery Education’s unitedstreaming content. The service is provided at no cost to individual schools or school districts.
“At a time of reduced financial resources and increased demand for improved educational results, ETV is proud to offer cutting edge technology that allows learning on demand in classrooms throughout South Carolina,” said Maurice “Moss” Bresnahan, president and CEO of ETV.
