MontanaPBS Receives Emmy Nominations (May 2006)
 

MontanaPBS LogoMontanaPBS recently received eight regional Emmy nominations for several local productions. John Twiggs received three nominations for Evelyn Cameron: Pictures from a Worthy Life in the categories of Best Cultural/Historical Documentary, Best Writing and Best Photography. This documentary focuses on pioneer Evelyn Cameron, who chronicled life in eastern Montana at the turn of the 20th century through thousands of photographic images and thirty-five years of diaries. Gus Chambers and Ray Ekness were also nominated for photography on Evelyn Cameron.

John Twiggs also received a nomination for a segment of Backroads of Montana. This local series has aired for fifteen years and profiles the unique people and places of Montana.

Scott Sterling received two nominations for 11th and Grant with Eric Funk, a series that focuses on local musicians and live studio performances, in the categories of Best Entertainment Series and Graphic Artist.

Anna Rau was nominated in the Public Affairs Special category for Making a Difference, From Citizen to Lawmaker. This series follows two freshman legislators through their duties and struggles at the state capitol.

The 43rd Annual NATAS Awards Ceremony was held in Seattle on June 3, 2006. Montana PBS received two regional Emmys for local productions. In the Documentary - Cultural/Historical category, KUFM-TV's John Twiggs won with Evelyn Cameron: Pictures from a Worthy Life, and in the Individual Achievement category for Graphic Artist, KUSM-TV's Scott Sterling won with 11th & Grant with Eric Funk.
