Maine Public Broadcasting Network Holds Several Local Election Debates Throughout The State This Fall

Fulfilling its mission of connecting the people of Maine to each other and to the world through the open exchange of information, ideas and cultural content, Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN) will be convening and broadcasting four key political debates this October. These debates include elected for the 1st Congressional District, the 2nd Congressional District, the Senate and the gubernatorial race.

The schedule and location for the debates is as follows:

  • The 1st Congressional District Debate, Thursday, Oct. 9 at MPBN’s Lewiston Studio.
  • The 2nd Congressional District Debate, Thursday, Oct. 16 at MPBN’s Lewiston Studio.
  • The Senate Debate, Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Gracie Theatre on the Husson University Campus in Bangor, in partnership with the Bangor Chamber of Commerce.
  • The Gubernatorial Debate, Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Gracie Theatre.

All debates will begin at 8 p.m. and will be aired live on MPBN television and radio. The debates will be rebroadcast the day following each debate on MPBN radio at 1 p.m. and on MPBN television the Sunday following each debate in the afternoon.
