ESSA Family Engagement Plan Memo

As implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) continues to roll out in local and state education agencies across the country, a key opportunity has emerged for public television stations. ESSA requires a family engagement plan for state and local school districts that brings families into the process of developing and implementing educational programming.

With the help of education consultant Danica Petroshius, Principle, Penn Hill Group, APTS has created a memo to help public television stations take advantage of this opportunity. Stations like Vegas PBS have already begun working with their school districts to fulfill this ESSA requirement with their Ready To Learn content and are being compensated for their work.
